The Best and Worst Selfie Sticks for Insta360 Cameras Ranked

Oct 13, 2025

In this post, I’ll compare 16 of the most popular selfie sticks and monopods for Insta360 cameras, ranking them from 1-10. At the end, I’ll reveal my picks for the best of the best and the worst of the worst.

For a selfie stick to rank highly, it needs to tick three boxes:

✅  Invisibility
– It shouldn’t show up when you reframe toward your hand.

✅ Extension Range – It should extend far enough for a variety of shot types but compact down small enough to be portable.

✅ Price-to-Value Ratio – It should offer great value for what you pay.

If you’d like to learn how to use these accessories to capture cinematic 360 shots, check out my 360 Video 101 course.

I've also linked every accessory in red throughout this post in case you want to pick up any of these yourself.

Standard 114 cm Selfie Stick

The Standard 114 cm Selfie Stick is as simple as it gets. At one point, Insta360 actually gave these away for free with every camera purchase, but now they sell for about $25 on the Insta360 website.

I’m a big fan of this stick because it extends all the way to 114 cm, giving you a nice, wide shot, yet condenses down surprisingly small, taking up hardly any space in your bag. It’s not quite pocket-friendly, but it’s very close.

If you were to buy just one accessory for your 360 camera, and this was it, you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Multi Mount

Found on Insta360’s website, the Multi Mount is marketed for the X5, X4, and other 360 cameras — but it’s really not suited for 360 use. The problem? It’s not straight. When unfolded, it’s slightly bent and shows up in the bottom of your shots.

You could technically set it up using the built-in tripod on a table and film in one direction only, but even then, it bends so easily that your camera could topple over.

The Multi Mount is far better suited to traditional action cameras, not 360 cameras.

Foldable Two-in-One Selfie Stick

This clever Foldable Two-in-One stick doubles as both a selfie stick and tripod. It folds in half for excellent portability, making it extremely pocket-friendly. When extended, it reaches 23 inches — not huge, but long enough for framing yourself comfortably.

It also includes built-in tripod legs, perfect for setting it down on a flat surface and filming from one direction. Previously, I ranked it 5/10 because of its $54.99 price tag, but there’s now a remote-free version for $34.99. For a pocket-friendly stick with an integrated tripod and lens cap, I think $35 is very fair.

It’s also pretty invisible in shot — you may see a tiny sliver around your hand, but it’s not a deal-breaker. For many people, this will be the perfect selfie stick for their use case. Personally, it won’t be my go-to, but for all these reasons, I’m rating it 8/10.

85cm Mini Invisible Selfie Stick

This 85cm Mini Invisible Selfie Stick used to be my number-one accessory for the Insta360 X5 — and for good reason. It’s incredibly small and light, easily fitting in your pocket, yet when extended it reaches 85cm, enough for most shot types.

It’s almost the same size as the camera itself, which makes it ultra-portable. My only minor grievance is the rubber handle, which causes a small black spot in your footage — but once you remove it, that issue disappears entirely.

For its $25 price tag, this is a near-perfect everyday selfie stick.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 9/10

3m Extended Edition Selfie Stick

The 3m Extended Edition Selfie Stick is by far the longest stick on this list, so gets top marks for its impressive extension range. Surprisingly it collapses down to just 36 cm, which is small considering it's a 3m selfie stick. Made from carbon fibre, it’s lightweight, premium-feeling, and extends/retracts very smoothly.

It’s expensive at $100, which is a lot for an accessory that costs about one-fifth of your camera’s price. However, many users pointed out that it lets you capture drone-like shots in places where drones are banned which is a huge plus.

If you want that elevated perspective and don’t mind a few stares from bystanders (because yes, it looks like you’re about to pole-vault or go fishing), it’s a great investment.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 7/10

Action Invisible Selfie Stick

Another carbon fibre model, the Action Invisible Selfie Stick extends up to 1 metre (39 inches) and retracts down to just 28 cm (11 inches), making it compact enough for travel yet long enough for almost any 360 shot.

Honestly, I’ve very rarely needed to extend a 360 camera beyond a metre — the further you go, the more likely you are to bump or smash your camera into something. A one-metre reach gives you an impressively wide shot without the risk.

It’s co-made with Sirui, a trusted tripod brand, and you can tell from the build quality that it’s built to last. I’ve had mine for two, maybe three years now, and it’s still in perfect shape. At $50, I see this as a smart long-term investment.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 9.5/10

Bullet Time Selfie Stick 2.0

The Bullet Time Selfie Stick 2.0 adds the Bullet Time feature, letting you spin the camera around your head for a dramatic effect. While it’s an impressive concept, I really don't like this selfie stick. As you spin the camera, it tends to bump up and down — not because of the stick itself, but because the weight of the camera makes it difficult to maintain a perfectly smooth motion. The result is noticeably shaky footage.

Earlier versions of the bullet time handle — especially the simple tripod thread on a string — didn’t have this issue. At $55, I just don’t see the point of buying this selfie stick for a single effect you’ll probably only use once or twice.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 4/10

PellKing Selfie Stick

Next is a selfie stick from a lesser-known Amazon brand called PellKing. It costs just over $20, yet extends all the way to 77 inches (nearly 2m). The build quality is surprisingly solid, and even when fully extended, it doesn’t bend — meaning it stays invisible in your shots.

The main downside is that it doesn’t retract very short, so there’s no chance of fitting it in your pocket, and even some backpacks might not fit this. But if that’s not an issue for you, this is a fantastic budget-friendly alternative to the 3m stick.

Overall, the PellKing selfie stick is an impressive performer for the price.

FOMO Power Handle

Technically not a selfie stick — the FOMO Power Handle is a power bank mount with a built-in 6100 mAh battery. You can plug your camera directly into it and film almost all day without running out of battery. It even has small fold-out legs and a ¼-inch tripod thread so you can attach it to another stick if needed.

However, this setup will be visible in your shots, even when used alone, so it’s not ideal for most 360 filming. It’s best for specific scenarios — like long static shots — where you can reframe away from the base.

Otherwise, most Insta360 batteries are already solid, and priced at $100, a spare battery or power bank would do the same job for less money.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 6/10

Insta360 All-Purpose Tripod

This is a compact, portable All-Purpose Tripod that folds down to pocket size. Each leg extends for better stability, and it connects easily to any selfie stick thanks to its standard tripod thread.

Paired with something like the Action Invisible Selfie Stick, it makes a great makeshift monopod. It’s not ultra-sturdy for heavy setups, but for quick static shots, it works really well — especially at $35.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 7/10

Throwpod

By far the most awkward accessory on the list. The Throwpod is heavy, clunky, and feels like something you could use as a cricket bat. The design involves dropping it so its legs pop out automatically — which seems like a huge risk for your camera.

There are much safer, simpler options that do the same job. This one’s a clear fail.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 2/10

2-in-1 Invisible Selfie Stick + Tripod

A much better alternative to the Throwpod. You simply open and extend it — no dropping required. It works both as a standard selfie stick and as a tripod for stationary filming.

At just $25, The 2-in-1Invisible Selfie Stick + Tripod is solid value, even if it’s not foldable or pocket-friendly. The only reason it’s not rated higher is that the foldable stick performs a similar role and packs down smaller.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 7/10

Bushman V2 Monopod

A long-time favourite among virtual tour professionals, the Bushman V2 includes a quality selfie stick, counterweight, and tripod. It features anti-pinch locking mechanisms and a sturdy build — though it’s starting to feel dated compared to newer designs.

It’s $216, which is steep, but for tour creators, it’s a proven and dependable setup.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 8/10

Bushman Pro Monopod

The Bushman Pro is the upgraded version of the original, made from premium aluminium with a flexible folding tripod that packs down small for easy storage. It also features an angled black counterweight, perfect for tilting the monopod to hide the legs behind objects like kitchen counters.

The build quality is excellent — sturdy, smooth, and ideal for professional virtual tour creators who want an invisible, reliable setup. I especially like the locking mechanism, which holds firm at any height without slipping.

At $322, it’s expensive, but if you’re earning from virtual tours, it’s worth every cent.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 9/10

Best360 Aluminium Monopod

The Best360 Aluminium Monopod gives the Bushman some serious competition though. Released a few years ago, it’s designed very similarly to the original Bushman Monopod but comes in cheaper — around $193, and often on sale — compared to the Bushman Version 2 at $216.

In terms of build quality, the Best360 is excellent. It’s sturdy, smooth, and fully capable of handling professional virtual tour work, with minimal difference from the Bushman models.

⭐️ Ben’s Rating: 9/10

Best360 Pro Carbon Fibre Monopod

The Best360 Pro Monopod is their upgraded model, made from carbon fibre and built to a very high standard. Like the others, it’s modular, with a counterweight and long, extendable legs — something the Bushman Monopod doesn’t offer. The trade-off is that if you’re shooting virtual tours, you’ll need to spend more time editing it out in post.

The carbon fibre build makes it lightweight and comfortable to handle, with a spongy grip that feels great. However, it’s slightly visible in 360 video shots when looking down, and I noticed a bit of resistance when extending or retracting sections, which makes it feel a touch fragile — like it could break if dropped or forced.

Overall, it’s still a premium monopod and an excellent option for virtual tours, but due to those small build concerns, the Best360 Pro lands in at 8/10.

Final Thoughts

And here are my final rankings:

💀 Worst of the Worst:
Multi Mount – 1/10
It’s awkward, visible in shots, and made of plastic — basically destined for failure.

🏆 Best of the Best:
Action Invisible Selfie Stick – 9.5/10
If I had to pick one selfie stick to go out shooting with my 360 camera, it would be the Action Invisible Selfie Stick. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the quality is excellent — extending and retracting smoothly every time. The only thing stopping it from being perfect is its size; it doesn’t quite fit in your pocket. Otherwise, I give it a 9.5 out of 10, which officially makes it the best of the best.
